Dangers of Rope

Think Twice before you buy.

We are not here to preach but feel it important that you are fully aware of the dangers associated with Rope.

Rope toys, swings and nets can be a great source of pleasure but never underestimate how hazardous they are to your Feathered Friend if not used with caution.

Although we have chosen to offer rope accessories within our ranges we strongly stress that these should only be for out of cage use and even then always under supervision.

Surely it’s worth a few minutes of your time to remove these high risk items prior to leaving your bird unattended.

Don’t be responsible for your Feathered Friend becoming a statistic.

Don’t let it be you, walking in the room to find your Feathered Friend hanging from a rope toy that could have been removed.

Don’t let it be you that loses a precious companion for the sake of the few extra minutes it would take to make their environment safe.

Toys with hanging ropes and strings can easily become nooses for birds. They should be checked daily as loose strings on toys, swings and nets can entrap a birds foot.  A trapped bird will panic and go as far as to chew off its own toes or complete foot to try and free itself, not to mention that it could DIE of fright.

Loose threads can unravel and easily become tangled around your birds toes & feet. You may not even notice this until swelling has occurred & by then it could be too late.

Check all Rope items daily and trim any loose threads that can become a danger and please remove high risk Rope items before leaving your friend unattended.
